Do you want to learn more about how researchers and academics study mental health? Do you want to know how you can get a career in mental health research? Or do you have lived experience of mental health and want to get your voice heard?

If this sounds like you, join our next Youth Connection Programme beginning in October. Youth Connection is an award-winning 13-week programme for young people aged 14-25 who want to gain valuable experience in mental health research.

On the programme, you’ll have the opportunity to:

• Expand your knowledge
• Contribute to research
• Meet and work with leading academics, clinicians and professionals working in the mental health sector
• Enhance your CV and references
• Develop skills for careers in research, academia, healthcare, marketing and more
• Meet new people in a welcoming, accessible and inclusive space

The programme is run by GM.Digital, a mental health research unit based in Manchester. We explore how digital tools can support mental health, with a particular focus on digital accessibility and young people. We are a partnership between the University of Manchester and Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust.

Who can apply?

Anyone from the age of 14-25 with an interest in mental health. We are also a Duke of Edinburgh-accredited programme.

When does it start?

Sessions begin on 13 October 2026 and run from 6.30pm-7.30pm every Tuesday online for 13 weeks.
