The WISDOM Research Network consults with our Advisory Group bi-annually. They help guide and advise us as we develop the Network.
Our Advisory Group members are:
Simon Murphy, Principal Investigator, School Health Research Network (SHRN)
Professor Simon Murphy is the Director of the Centre for Development, Evaluation, Complexity and Implementation in Public Health Improvement (DECIPHer). DECIPHer tackles public health issues such as mental health and wellbeing, positive social relationships, diet and nutrition, physical activity and substance misuse, with a particular focus on the health and wellbeing of children and young people.
Simon leads the SHRN, which bring together policy makers, practitioners, academics and schools in Wales for co-production, evaluation studies and knowledge exchange. He also co-leads the schools and mental health work programme in The Wolfson Centre for Young People’s Mental Health.
Simon is particularly concerned with developing and evaluating multilevel interventions that address ecological influences on health and reduce health inequalities and how to improve the translation of knowledge for impact.
Catherine Roche, Chief Executive Officer, Place2Be
Catherine Roche is the Chief Executive of Place2Be. She began her career in teaching before completing an MBA and joining KPMG. Her pro bono support for Place2Be from 1996 inspired her to join the charity as Chief Operating Officer in 2003 and then Deputy CEO. In 2014 she became Chief Executive and has led the organisation’s development since then.
In 2019, Catherine was elected to the NHS Confederation Mental Health Network Board. She is also a school governor of her local secondary school and a non-Executive Director of Good Corporation.
Tim Coulson, CBE, Chief Executive Officer, Unity Schools Partnership
Dr Tim Coulson, CBE, has taught in five London primary schools including as headteacher at William Tyndale Primary School. He has worked in the national organisations of the Qualifications and Assessment Authority, National Numeracy Strategy and the founding team of Regional School Commissioners at the Department for Education.
He has worked in local authorities in Waltham Forest, Lambeth, Camden, Reading and Essex where he was director of education.
He now leads Unity Schools Partnership, an academy trust in East Anglia of primary, secondary and special schools.
Susie Fraser, Director, Greater Manchester Academies Trust and Manchester Communication Research School
Susie has been a senior leader for 11 years with various responsibilities including Teaching and Learning, Staff Development, Inclusion and Behaviour and Culture. She is also an English teacher. Susie successfully completed the Fellowship in Teacher Education with Ambition Institute in 2020 and is about to publish her first book, Leading Exceptional CPD.
